The different types of Homo Extensus will correspond to specific forms of intelligence, which will consolidate over the years by asserting themselves over other forms, as happens in biology in the evolution of species and as has happened for human thought in the history of cognitive technologies.

We can imagine possible forms of human intelligence, extended by interaction with AI:

  • Algoretic intelligence stems from the need to define meaning to artificial intelligence. Logosomatic intelligence emerges from the enhancement of its bodily component, which radically distinguishes humans from AI and defines its position in the natural universe.
  • Conscious intelligence is inherent in the self-awareness that only man possesses, leading to spirituality and philosophy, which are fundamental to developing critical sense.
  • The revolutionary intelligence is the one that makes the big changes, aided by the predictive faculties of artificial intelligence, but guided by the algoretic intelligence, which is still unquestionably human.
  • Operational intelligence — what ancient Greek called Metis, practical intelligence, cunning, wisdom in action, strategic and creative ability — can be enhanced by artificial intelligence: many AI tools can enhance the hand of the craftsman, the eye of the explorer and the doctor.
  • Exploratory intelligence is related to travel and visiting places. It too is empowered by the new eyes and narratives enabled by vision and artificial intelligence devices.
  • Collective digital intelligence comes from the construction of shared knowledge through networking and training of Artificial Intelligence models, but always under the conscious control of the human community.
