Is man destined to be overtaken by Super Artificial Intelligence, in the age of the Singularity?

Should the Homo Sapiens species we know stand aside in the face of the mutant and cyborg organisms predicted by transhumanist currents?

Maybe not.

Let us try to pose the question considering historical precedents.

Prehistoric mythical man was replaced by historical rational man following the advent of alphabetization.

The medieval theologian has been surpassed by the modern scientist in the observation of nature, thanks to the adoption of new instrumentation and the experimental method.

The nineteenth-century landscape and portrait painters faded to the background with the advent of photographic technology, marginalized by history subsequently supplanted by contemporary artists.

So yes, contemporary man as we know him today is destined, as far as his intelligence is concerned, to be surpassed by the advent of the Singularity and ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence).

But here we are talking about the present form of current Human Intelligence, not future ones.

In all critical cases throughout history, the intelligence of Homo Sapiens has managed to find a way to evolve into a new intellectual species, to extend its intelligence by exploiting new cognitive technologies to its advantage.

Certainly, these transitions have not been entirely painless; indeed, they have often taken place in conflictual and dialectical contexts. And the species of Homo that emerged changed, sometimes leading earlier forms of human intelligence to extinction or marginalization.

Finding ways to evolve our intelligence, extending it with Artificial Intelligence as has happened in the past from time to time through the advent of the alphabet, scientific technologies, photography… is the challenge that will lead us to the development of Homo Extensus intelligence.

A comparison of three visions of the relationship between Sapiens and technology: Homo Extensus conceives of humans above AI, Transhumanism envisions the injection of AI into the brain, the Singuarity predicts an AI takeover, that will take command over humans.
