We will enter the topic of new teaching methodologies, analyzing some possible solutions, some already in use in technical and vocational colleges. The laboratories of the new professions recently implemented in many schools, involve the study and use of specialized AI solutions for specific industries, are particularly suitable for vocational schools and even vocational universities. They are virtual evolutions of the traditional tools of laboratory teaching and internships at companies, which are adapted to the new technological scenario.

In many cases, AI is combined with immersive simulation tools of working environments and tools, using virtual and augmented reality, which provide greater sensory engagement. An interesting example is a teaching activity practiced with teachers at the Istituto Alberghiero Vespucci in Milan in March 2025. The teachers were asked to work in groups dedicated to the study of the hotel, a central topic of study for the institute, looking at it in a multidisciplinary way: from the perspective of sustainability, safety, and economic management. The three groups created textual and visual content by arranging them in three virtual hotels, taking advantage of 360-degree shots taken by the students, to develop three immersive thematic itineraries valuable for an institute dedicated to the hospitality industry. A goal impossible to achieve without the use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality was successfully achieved in this case, putting into practice an interesting form of education with AI.

AI training, practiced in other experiences, was instead aimed at learning how to use artificial intelligence itself, starting with prompt design and ending with programming AI models for computer science students.

These examples of pathways to education with AI and to AI for technical and vocational colleges are but the beginning of an instructional design that will hopefully cover the various fields of professions and disciplines, thus finalizing the introduction of the use of specialized AI tools in these schools.
