The enhancement of human faculties through the contribution of Artificial Intelligence can also lead to the strengthening of the negative characteristics of those faculties.

Many criminals are already adopting AI technologies to carry out their plans, whether in the real or cyber world.

The race to accumulate wealth and financial speculation features Big Tech, leaders in Artificial Intelligence, corporate entities already accused of privacy violations, exploitation of personal data, mass layoffs of their employees, tax evasion, monopolistic practices, abuse of dominant positions and unfair competition, mass distraction strategies, interference in democracy and the media, and more. These entities are the first to exploit AI to enhance their own actions, which are reportedly not only positive.

The mass adoption of AI also shows dark sides: millions of students are using it in an attempt to fool teachers by making assignments or even dissertations without developing real skills; a venial sin – one might observe – but still a less than educational approach, especially considering the failure to acquire skills, with decidedly harmful consequences for the individual and society as a whole.

The aforementioned use of AI by autocratic governments to control citizens and impose authoritarian regimes, a fact evident in many areas of the world, contributes to the regression of democracy that already connotes this historical phase globally. And into the topic also enters the major issue of the use of AI in the military.
